Remember – the formula is training PLUS nutrition. When looking for that extra something when it comes to your athletic training and fitness program, do not overlook the nutrition portion of the equation. Too many times individuals looking to improve athletically or take the next step in their fitness program they tend to, if not overlook, at least not fully grasp the importance of nutrition in your overall efforts. It is easy to get caught up with weight room routines, sport specific workouts, how many miles you are getting in on your runs and so forth. The nutrition portions, for some, become an added feature rather than a key component to your overall training program.

Great nutrition does not only have an effect on the body, it is also good for the mind. People who eat healthy are usually happier than those who do not. This is because eating healthy foods regulates hormones well which are partly responsible for our mood.

The Paleo Cookbooks introduced many delicious recipes which is a diet designed by nature. These books have shown positive results to many of us like good weight loss results, increased energy levels, bright & soft skin and a strong immune system. Eating natural foods that make up the Paleo diet promote such wonderful results.

Of course, another way to answer what is a healthy diet is also defined as regulation. As they say, anything taken in excess is not exactly always good. For instance, an excess of fats and carbohydrates could lead to adding of too much weight, an excess of bad cholesterol may end up clogging your blood vessels, and excessive amounts of some micronutrients can cause toxicity and other adverse reactions. With that said, here are some of the guidelines for a healthy diet according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

What people sometimes forget is that diabetes is a disease that originates in sugar control problems. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that destroys the pancreas in kids. Type 2 comes from overeating sugar. It’s easy to stop overeating sugars: Eliminate pre-packaged foods, soda and candy from the diet, focus on fruits, vegetables and quality meats and get plenty of exercise and fun.

You can add another day if possible (I don’t recommend more than 4 days per week if you’re also weight training), or add time to each day (I like to add 10 minutes to each session and see how my body responds).
