Not all dietary fat is bad for you. In fact, most dietary fat, from natural sources is super healthy for you.

One of the main super fats are omega 3 fatty acids.

Omega 3 fatty acids benefits include:
– Improving cardiovascular health, thus reducing the risk of the number 1 killer of humans
– Boosting your metabolism
– Strengthen your immune system and cellular functions
– Improving brain health and mood
– Reducing stress and adrenal fatigue
– Increasing muscle building while decreasing muscle breakdown
– Reducing body fat by improving insulin sensitivity

Do you think you’re getting enough omega 3 fatty acids in your diet?

Most people aren’t. Including myself.

Even though I’m eating a good amount of these best foods high in omega 3 fatty acids, my latest blood test results showed I could improve my omega 3 fatty acids to omega 6 fatty acids ratio.

Omega 3 fatty acids to omega 6 fatty acids ratio:
Over the past 30 years, there has been a dramatic increase in the ratio of omega 6 fatty acids to omega 3 fatty acids.

This is mainly linked to diet, in particular, the standard American diet, also known as SAD.

Foods high in inflammatory omega 6 fatty acids include most processed foods, especially those that contain vegetable oils such as:
– Corn oil
– Safflower oil
– Sunflower oil
– Soybean oil
– Cottonseed oil
– Peanut oil

On top of that, the standard American diet does not contain very many of the best foods high in omega 3 fatty acids. This often leads to the out of balance omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids ratio of 20:1.

Studies show humans evolved on an omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids ratio that was closer to 2:1 or 1:1.

Although eating some omega 6 fatty acids is needed in your diet, they should come from whole food sources, not processed food. Over consumption of omega 6 fatty acids can lead to inflammation and diseases such as:
– Cancer
– Diabetes
– Heart disease
– Obesity

Omega 3 fatty acids include 3 different kinds of fat:

The most talked about foods high in omega 3 fatty acids contain more EPA and DHA.

Best Foods High In Omega 3 Fatty Acids:
Foods high in EPA and DHA include cold water fish such as:
– Mackeral
– Anchovies
– Wild salmon
– Sardines
– Tuna
– Herring
– Cod
– Fish oil supplements

Other foods high in omega fatty acids include:
– Organic grass fed beef
– Organic pork
– Grass fed butter
– Wild meat like buffalo and elk
– Free range organic whole eggs

And yes, it’s important to eat grass fed meat and dairy rather than conventional grain fed meet and dairy.

Grass fed is higher in omega 3 fatty acids, while grain fed is higher in omega 6 fatty acids.

Foods high in the omega 3 fatty acid, ALA, tends to be more plant based:
– Chia seeds
– Flax seeds
– Flax seed oil
– Walnuts
– Hemp seeds
– Almonds

Bottom line on omega 3 fatty acids:
Eat more of these foods high in omega 3 fatty acids and reduce the amount of foods high in omega 6 fatty acids.

For example:
– Aim to eat 2-3 servings of wild caught fish like wild salmon
– Consume grass fed beef and grass fed butter rather than conventional grain fed
– Reduce consumption of vegetable oils and processed foods
– Supplement daily with fish oils

Pregnancy Nutrition – Food Faqs For Every Stage

Basically, fats are categorized into saturated and unsaturated fat. Fresh food stuff has more nutrients than preserved or processed foods. There are no magic pills, no miracle drinks, or effective short cuts to losing unwanted pounds.

Do you know that our daily diet can affect our Skin? As they say, beauty comes from within. For skin care, aside from applying creams or oils that can help your skin, it will be of no use if you have a bad diet. How do you keep your skin healthy with your diet?

According to the National Health and nutrition Examination Survey, 70 percent of Americans are overweight. This, for the most part, is because fat people have dirty livers. Let me explain. The liver is ‘the’ key player in fat metabolism and toxin breakdown. Overtime, livers are bombarded with chemicals and hormones from the food we eat. Livers are designed to quickly and easily get rid of these harmful toxins, but without rest and proper nutrition, livers become overworked and begin to fail at their key functions. Livers no longer work properly to metabolize fat and breakdown toxins. So fat people usually have livers that are dirty with toxins. A toxic liver has problems burning fat and even increases the amount of fat in your body. This is why the liver must be detoxed for weight loss.

When a person loses more than just fat, the body highly decreases in weight. If you are an individual who has no more fat to burn or lose, you should be very, very careful not to go overboard and lose more than just fat. People like anorexics suffering from anorexia often do not have fat left in their bodies to lose or burn, so they become thinner, and more fragile, until they die due to severe weight loss.

One of the first steps to a healthy diet is to rid your body of all the rubbish that is already there. These are the toxins that have built up over time. Well one way of doing this is to go down to your local pharmacy and get a pre-packaged detox kit and follow that for a specified length of time. Or you could buy antioxidants in supplement form. These are both workable quick fixes but you really need to make you diet a lifestyle.

In order to maximize your efforts and reach a goal, identify specific and quantifiable actions. Stating your intention of merely improving this week is not a measurable goal. Log the time dedicated to weekly exercise. Count the number of repetition of given exercises each day. Record the foods you each at each meal. These are quantifiable.

Bone strength is very important, whether you are doing weight training or a cardio workout. Weak bones will lead to osteoporosis and increase the risk of injuries, such as fractures, while exercising. Nutrition is important to help improve the strength of your bones. You will need to have the right amount of calcium in the diet, which is gained from milk and other dairy products.

All of these aspects of your general fitness, of course, can be broken down even more. It’s important to focus on each one of these and try to develop each of them. If you can do that, you’re well on your way to improving your overall fitness.

You want to get a degree in college, you start with one class. Calcium will help reduce bone loss, and vitamin D helps the bones absorb the calcium. Every man’s fitness routine should include strength training.
