Nutrition Labels Exposed!

Make sure that your total calories intake each day keeps lowering. It is important to constantly replenish these nutrients throughout the day. Chocolate cake, wine, beer, ice cream, and even bacon! Nutrition is key to being fit and staying that way.

When you think about healthy eating you think about fresh foods and portion control and while those are big parts of healthy eating there are other things to take into consideration as well.

According to the National Health and nutrition Examination Survey, 70 percent of Americans are overweight. This, for the most part, is because fat people have dirty livers. Let me explain. The liver is ‘the’ key player in fat metabolism and toxin breakdown. Overtime, livers are bombarded with chemicals and hormones from the food we eat. Livers are designed to quickly and easily get rid of these harmful toxins, but without rest and proper nutrition, livers become overworked and begin to fail at their key functions. Livers no longer work properly to metabolize fat and breakdown toxins. So fat people usually have livers that are dirty with toxins. A toxic liver has problems burning fat and even increases the amount of fat in your body. This is why the liver must be detoxed for weight loss.

Fat is not all bad, but is not all good either. Fat is needed by the body because it is what the body burns when it is put through stress and work. It is unhealthy for either a man or a woman to have 0% body fat; what would his or her body have to burn then? In the absence of fat, the body eats other parts of itself like muscle, which is more on weight loss already. The normal fat percentage men should have is between 12 to about 20 percent; women should have significantly more, around 15 to about 25 percent, since they would need extra fat for when they get pregnant.

Your healthy diet menu should start with the first meal of the day, which is called breakfast. Considered to be the most important meal of the day, foods that are recommended for breakfast include those that can boost your energy. These are one serving of oatmeal, a half cup of strawberries, a glass or orange juice and a tablespoon of chopped nuts.

If you maintain a healthy, well-balanced diet, both your appearance and your physical condition will thank you. Refined sugars are not healthy for the body, so decrease or eliminate them, whenever possible. Make sure you read the labels on bottled drinks. These are culprits when it comes to being loaded with sugar. Avoid them. When you reduce the sugars in your diet, you will lose weight faster. Your body will look better, and you’ll feel better too.

Substitute your regular choice of meat, for fish, at least twice a week for a healthier diet. The omega-3 acids in fish help to maintain blood and brain health. Avoid tuna, however, because it contains a great deal of mercury.
